Physics 2-27-18 Bernoulli

PHYSICS: Were you amazed at the effect of change in surface area on the velocity of water, and especially the pressure of water, flowing through a tube? Thaaaaat explains how a calm ride on a lazy river can turn crazy in just a few seconds!

I dug up two old lessons from Bernoulli and posted them below – First, Bernoulli Part 1. We mainly concentrated on qualitative applications of Bernoulli’s Principle with some practical applications. (Ignore all the discussion about the syllabus!!) The second covers more of the conceptual stuff with a beginning look at the problems.

Speaking of syllabus, UPDATE: Pg. 289: 17 – 21 and Bernoulli Worksheet DUE FRIDAY

  1. It has been a busy week in general but still interesting in Physics. We have gotten to learn all about Bernoulli and his discoveries on how fluids function. We did a few take home labs that taught me some interesting concepts. We got to film our TBot movie earlier this week also. I am doing pretty well on the concepts so far I think. I just need to make sure I practice the math more since we haven’t done much of it. I’ll be sure to study hard for the upcoming test!

  2. This week in physics we played with T-bots and learned about fluids. Me and my partner made a really good video with Alex and Ethan’s group. I have been struggling a little bit with the problems but overall I would have to rate myself a 3/5. I’m going to work on problems this weekend and hopefully I’ll be ready for the test.

  3. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. My lab group made a really good Tbot video and I had fun playing with them. Most of the concepts we learned this week I understood but putting them into practice with problems was a little rough. Hopefully I will be able to work on it soon to prepare for the test. Still, I was able to get all of my homework and labs done during play week so I am proud of the work that I’ve done.

  4. This week in Physics, we got a chance to study all of the cool applications of Bernoulli’s Law and Pascal’s Principle. I would rate myself a 3 out of 5 stars for this week because I started off strong with the T-bot lab and applying Pascal’s Principle, but I am struggling to work the Bernoulli problems by myself. I understand the concepts pretty well, but I feel like I may need to work all of the different types of problems a couple of times. I can’t believe that this nine weeks is already over! I am going to work on making up my missed work from Costa Rica and becoming confident with my Bernoulli problems these next few weeks!

  5. This week I would rate myself a three out of five. It has been a tough week with all that has been going on. I have struggled with pretty much every concept that we have gone over. The only high point this week was the T-bot lab. I feel as though my partner and I did well on it. Hopefully I will be able to write up all my labs this weekend and be prepared for the test next week.

  6. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I feel like I know most of the material that we have gone over. A struggle for the week is learning conceptual stuff. A triumph of the week is understanding most of the continuity problems.

  7. This week in physics I would rate myself a 4 out of 5 because I did good on all of the homework and I am understanding Bernoulli’s concepts. I also am doing better with the problems so I think this chapter has gone well. I hope to keep up the positivity going into the test and finish the 9 weeks off good.
