Chemistry 2-26-18 Chapter 4 Test Overview & Help Session

CHEMISTRY: God bless as you study for the chapter 4 test! I found a couple of old vodcasts from last year that might be helpful – especially if you were absent. First is an overview of the chapter. Below that is the helps session that we did before the test.

Have you checked out the Chapter 4 Stuff to Know Sheet? Make sure you memorize the things you need to memorize so that you can apply them on the test. And practice, practice, practice, the problems and electron configurations.

What about applications for discussion? Neon signs, photoelectric effect, spectroscopy, etc.? Another great idea for studying is to watch the videos that we watched in class – super helpful as you study for the test!! Check them out on the the earlier lesson web posts. Here are some of them:
Spectrum of the Stars (overivew of the results of the spectroscopy lab you did, shows the connection between our lab on spectroscopy and how we can identify elements), Emission Spectrum of Hydrogen (how we use it to know about the energy levels in an atom), Quantum Mechanics (about the roles of Bohr, Schrodinger, Heisenberg), and also Animated Quantum Mechanics.

God bless you! I’m praying for you!!

  1. This week I feel like I did well on my test and reviewing. I didn’t do much this week with a two day week but I’m anxious to see my grade.

  2. This week has been a rollercoaster from all of the test, to trying to keep up with grades. I would rate it a 2/5, hopefully I did good on the test.

  3. This week has been a rollercoaster from studying for all of the test, to trying to keep up with all of my grades. I will give this week a 2/5, hopefully I passed and did good on my chemistry test.

  4. This week I would rate myself a 2/5 because i think I should have studied more for the problems on the test. I will definitely be reviewing more homework before the next test.

  5. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week. We didn’t learn much, but I felt better on my test this week than I have all this year! Plus we did some awesome labs.

  6. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week. I liked the labs we did this week. I just needed to learn my formulas a little better for the test.

  7. This week in chemistry I rate myself a 3/5 because I was sick and missed two days, but I am planning on doing the makeup lab for next week, I have one of two extra credits done, and the cLab looks like a lot but I think it will be easy I hope.

  8. This week in chemistry I rate myself a 4/5 because i understood everything we discussed but, I also had a challenging time taking the test.

  9. This week in Chemistry I rate myself a 4.5/5. I had a rough start with the test, but after the mistake, we had the triboluminesence lab, and I actually had a fun time with it. I’ve started enjoying chemistry again, and I think that rediscovered enjoyment of chemistry will help improve my grade.

  10. I would rate myself 3/5 this week on doing both labs in chemistry because I think I was being too distracting to other classmates so I will be more respectful and quiet the next time we do a class activity. I would also like for you to tell me when we will do a project in class in person because I do not have remind on and if I have to have remind on for you tell me then please let me know in class so I can sign up.

  11. This week in chemistry I rate myself a 2/5. I know I did not do good on the test and I need to prepare better next time. The triboluminescence lab was the best part of this week and seeing how it related to chapter 4 was cool.

  12. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. The most challenging part of this week was the test. The tribouluminescence lab was really fun because it was cool to see the colors in the dark.

  17. This week was good! I felt very prepared for the test, and came to class prepared all week! The labs were really fun! I really enjoyed the triboluminescence lab, it was very interesting to see how the things you see everyday make light you can’t see unless your in the dark!

  18. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I was stressed about the make up work I had to complete but I got it done in time and managed to get through the rest of the week.

  19. I don’t feel too confident about my test. I was not able to make it to the helo session to recieve help on what I had questions about. I hope I still did okay. Other than that, it was a good week.

  20. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I fell like I did well on the labs but not so well on the test should have studied more.

  21. This week I give myself a 4/5. I felt prepared for the test, though it still wasn’t easy. The labs were fun, and I managed to complete all of my assignments. This week started out rough, but I managed to bounce back and finish it out strong.
