Chemistry 2-15-18 Orbital Notation & Electron Configuration Notation

CHEMISTRY: Wow, you did a great job today! Did quantum numbers begin making more sense when you started using them? Good work today on orbital notation. I think you’re going to be seeing arrows and numbers in your sleep!

Then, just when you were getting the hang of drawing arrows, I go and change it! But don’t you think writing electron configuration notation is a whole lot shorter than doing orbital notation? Don’t get me wrong, knowing how to do orbital is great for seeing how the electrons are paired, but this way is waaaay shorter!

Be sure and practice with the homework tonight, and don’t forget to use the Aufbau “chart”!!!!

Need extra practice or help with this chapter? Ask me about a help session next week!

  1. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. I’ve had a hard time understanding some of the concepts and a hard time paying attention, but on Thursday I was able to come full circle and understand the electron notation fine.

  2. I rate myself a 4/5 this week because this concept so far has been understandable, but I still have a light confusion in some areas. Overall this week has been good.

  3. This week in chem i would rate myself a 3.5/5 i understood the notes and did well on my homework. I enjoyed the lab. looking forward to next week.

  4. I rate myself a 4/5 for the week I did good taking notes and I think I did good on the lab and have understood everything we have learned this week so it has been a good week

  5. This week was a 4/5 for me. The labs we did this week were really fascinating and cool! l really grasped the material this week. l love what we’re learning and l’m gonna start studying for the test each night! l really love the chapter!

  6. I would rate myself a 3/5 for this week. I understood the lesson and took good notes. Also I completed all my homework for the week,

  7. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I did good taking notes and paying attention in class. I did great on the lab the other day.

  8. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I understand the orbital notation and electron configuration. I just have to get the order of the orbitals down pat so I can do it quicker and easier.

  9. I have a serious question about our class. When will we have a major project? I have heard that at some point in chemistry we will have a survival project that involves knowing elemental properties to survive, but I don’t know when we will or if we will have it. If you could tell me at some point that would be appreciative. I also rate myself a 3/5 this week because I have had a better attitude, but I could do better.

  10. This week in chemistry I rate myself 5/5. I got caught up on all my work, I completed all the homework. This week started really stressful but I prioritized and did one thing, the week ended well. The apartment building helped me to understand the lesson a lot.

  11. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I understood all the material we went over and I took good notes. I also did really well on the homework.

  12. This week in chemistry I would rate myself a 4/5 the lab emission spectra of elements lab was kind of difficult at first but once we started to get into learning the rest of the week I understood everything.

  13. This week I give myself a 4/5. I took adequate notes, and understood the lesson very well. The lab was relatively easy, as was the homework.

  14. I would rate myself 4/5 this week, I felt like I did well on taking notes and on the lab until I realized the glasses didn’t work.

  15. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I understand the orbital notation and electron configuration. I just have to get the order of the orbitals down pat so I can do it quicker and easier. I thought that it was that every element has its own color of light.

  16. This week i rate myself a 3/5. I struggled a lot with the orbital notation and electron configuration but it’s starting to make a little sense now but i need to practice this weekend and start getting ready for the test.

  17. I rate this week a 4/5. This lesson has been a breeze so far! (Thanks to the Aufbau chart) The labs were done completely; however, I felt a bit rushed this week. I’m still lagging behind in sleep, which is a problem. I’m sure with enough practice, the whole class could put a star on the wall!

  18. I would say i struggles a little bit this week cause I’m not fully understanding the orbital notation and electron configuration and I’m gonna be studying really hard for this test.

  19. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I understood the lesson much better than I thought I would and I did pretty good on my homeworks. Hopefully next week is just as good or better!!

  20. I rate myself a 4/5 I feel like I really understood the lesson and could do it on my own very well. I just need to work on managing my time

  21. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I really enjoyed the lab we did this week also I am understanding the quantum numbers better. Even though I was sick this week I have caught up.

  22. I rate myself a 4/5 this week, considering I missed a god chunk of it. I still think I’m making progress in our lessons.

  23. This week I rate myself a 4/5. I found most of the information quite easy, although working the problems did give me a little trouble. All in all, it was a rather easy week.

  24. This week I rate myself a 4/5. Although some of the topics we learned about were complicated, I was able to understand them enough to do my homework. I do think this chapter is really interesting, so that will help me understand the chapter better.

  25. I rate myself a 4/5 for this week. That is because I took really good notes this week and I began to understand the orbital notation towards the end of the week. Today, I figured out all on how to do orbital notation.

  26. It was a good week this week! I really enjoyed leaving about orbitals and notation! This has been by far my favorite lesson that we have learned, and balancing equations. Looking forward to leaning more next week! Also I took really good notes and kept up with homework!

  27. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. The lesson was very easy to understand and I enjoyed the lab we did this week. I did ok with all of my work.

  28. This week I rate myself a 3/5. I had a hard time with quantum numbers at first but got the hang of them when we practiced with them and did homework (s) on them. I also throughly enjoyed the lab this week and am looking forward to another great week next week!!

  29. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I’m doing really well with the orbital notation and I was able to get all of my homework done and get most of it right.

  30. this week i rate myself a 4/5 everything wee did i found pretty simple i did nit struggle with anything this week and feel confident about everything
