Physics 1-11-18 Collisions Problems with Energy & More!

PHYSICS: Great job on the problems so far!! Here’s the preview from today – dart in the block of wood, bird on the swing, car crash, and a start on the billiard balls. This cute little bird isn’t on a swing, but he is one I came beak to nose with on a mission trip to Costa Rica!

On to a more practical application tomorrow. Speaking of which, any questions? Light bulb? Questions??

  1. This week in Physics I would rate myself a 3 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed the lectures this week because there were lots of demonstrations and ways to apply what we were learning. The visual aids (the poppers, the cars, and “clowny”) really helped me to visualize the concepts. Even though I feel like I understand the concepts reasonably well, I still struggle with the harder problems. I will be sure to practice them during this extra-long weekend!

  2. This week I would rate myself a three out of five. Towards the beginning of the week it seemed as if the lessons were in a way going straight over my head. I really struggled with the conceptual problems on the homework and during class. The problem were definitely my strong point during the week. I feel as though I have picked up fairly well with them. I will definitely continue to work on them over the weekend and work on nailing down the concepts from the lessons.

  3. This week I would rate myself a 3/5 stars. We started out the week working easy problems and that was fine but when we got to the concepts I began to struggle. However, we combined a lot of older lessons into the momentum problems and I was able to figure them out for myself which was really encouraging. I’ve found that once you figure out what you’re looking for, it’s not that difficult to find a way to get there.

  4. This week I would rate myself a 3/5 because I feel that I have more work to do with understanding the concepts of collisions and momentum. I decently understand the problems and how to work them but I am struggling to apply this to concepts, and I will just have to keep practicing. I also struggled more than I should have with applying past things we learned in this new chapter but I think that I just need a bit of a refresher.

  5. This week in physics was pretty good. It was a little bit of a struggle being the first full week. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I think I’m doing pretty good on the collision problems. I also have a plan for the lab already. I can’t wait to get back next week to finish it.

  6. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week in physics. I feel like I should’ve prepared better for the test by working more problems which is why I may not have done so well on the test. On the other hand, I had a successful light bulb drop due to my Nerf football so I was very excited to see that success. I will begin working on my king of the hill car now so that I can hopefully have two successful projects in a row.
