Hon Chemistry 9-11-17 Relationships Between Data & Test Info

HON CHEMISTRY – You’ve learned to gather the “pieces of the puzzle”, now it’s time to put them together so they can have meaning! The recording today had no audio, BUT here’s an overivew of direct and inverse proportions from last year. Just brief info for the test for now, and we’ll put it to practice in a couple of activities after the test.

By the way, speaking of tests and putting thing together, how’re you doing on these last problems? Are you able to pull together all we’ve done in this chapter?

I found an old recording of a help session from last year and I posted that below as well. Conversation factor problems and maybe a density one or two? CAUTION: The first ten minutes or so are a bit scratchy – I think the mic kept getting caught on my shirt!

As you study, remember, don’t just read your notes – practice your notes, practice the problems, practice the memorization!! Be sure and check out the Chapter 2 Stuff to Know sheet and the chapter 2 study suggestions sheet. They are under the Test Info tab. God bless you! I’ll be praying for you!!

  1. My TRIUMPH this week is that I studied hard for my chemistry test and fully completed it!!! I’m so proud and felt like it went good!!! I feel like I’m getting a better grip on the test format, and I’m ready for the next chapter!

  2. This week my triumph was successfully completing our chemistry test! I studied hard and feel as though my grade was okay. I also was able to determine how I should study for the next test and what I should do to make an even better grade next time.

  3. I would rate myself 3/5 stars for this week so far. I’m not completely satified with my grade because I felt like I could have done better. On the other hand, now, I understand what kind of application you were refering to, so I can make my studying habits more efficient for the next test. Also, due to excess water in the weigh boat, my last lab was not successful. Atleast, I know what to do differently now!

  6. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I got a good grade on the test but I made simple mistakes that could have helped to raise said grade a little bit. I finished my lead lab, but it took me a second try and all of seventh period as well as sixth. In the future I will do my best to ensure I find an accurate reading.

  7. This week was very much a triumph for me! I studied a lot and did better on this test than the first one. I think maybe over a long period of time I will continue to get better with studying and figure out a way to make consistent grades in general. The lab with the lead shots also worked well and I enjoyed working on it with my partner!

  8. I would rate my week so far a 3.5/5. I studied very hard for the test on Tuesday and I felt well prepared when the time came to take it. I am content with the results on this test and I am pleased to say I think I have found a study system that really works! The lab also went smoothly and we actually completed the assignment quickly with a percent of error I was impressed with. My only qualms were technological challenges and time management problems (once again). Hopefully, I will find better use of my time and energy in the future so I am not constantly scrambling to finish.

  9. This week I would rate myself 3/5 stars. I didn’t make as high as I would like to on the test. Now I need to figure out what I can do to change how I study in order to make higher next time.

  10. My triumph this week would be getting good grade on my test! I figured out a great way to study and Cassie and I were successful on our lab! Plus, I feel like I am constantly learning something!

  11. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. I am not satisfied with my grade and I need to find a better study system. I now have a greater motivation to get things done.

  12. I rate myself 4/5 this week. I studied hard for my chemistry test and I’m okay with my grade. I made a lot of careless mistakes. Also my lab group completed the lab without a balance on our first try.

  13. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I studied hard for my test and I think I did well. Even though I was stressed, I was able to clear my mind in order to study hard.

  14. My triumph for this week was studying for the chemistry test and doing pretty well. I could have done better if I managed my time during the test better but I feel confident I’ll do much better on the next one.

  15. I would rate myself a 3.5/5 this week. I rate myself this week because I am technologically challenged. The results of the test challenged me to study harder and differently.

  16. My triumph for this week is that I learned what I need to improve on. I know that doesn’t sound like a triumph, but I now know how to study that would benefit me the most. Also, I now know I need to brush up on my computer skills!
