Reg & Hon Chemistry 9-6-17 Homework & Conversion Factor Problems, Etc.

REG & HON CHEMISTRY: Short class, but great job with our start on using conversion factors to work advanced problems! It’s good to able to convert from one unit to another, but can you use that info to solve a real world problem?

Remember, this isn’t just about getting an answer – some of you can do that in your head. This is about being able to convert from one unit to another using the Q-formula. (And yes, you have to do it that way!). Now go forth and conquer!

  1. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week, because at first I had trouble with showing all work in the required format but I eventually got the hang of it.

  2. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week. I never really thought about working as one class until the ID of Unknowns lab where I was put in a situation where I had to collaborate with my classmates.

  3. Triumph: I learned from my mistakes on homework and corrected them so I will not make the same mistake again. I think we communicated pretty well in the lab today.

  4. A struggle this week for me was the conversion factors. I got most of them wrong that we did in class but I think I’m figuring it out. Well, I’m still having a hard time with the cubed units but there is always room for improvement :).

  5. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. I struggled with staying on top of my work and the ID of the Unknowns. I will definitely try to improve on that.

  6. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. I feel like I got the Q formula down pretty good but struggled with the lab this week.

  7. This week I’ve had struggles and successes. I mastered the Q formula and started doing great on my homework. I need to start studying and memorizing my notes from class and review over the homework.

  8. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I didn’t show all of my work on the homework but I will improve that on any other homework from now on.

  9. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I’m still having a little trouble at difficult conversion problems and setting up my problems correctly and showing all of my work. Thankfully I’m starting to study very early and will soon conquer the hard problems!

  10. This week in chemistry I rate myself a 3/5. I struggled with the larger conversion factors and I’m a little nervous for the test. I believe if I work hard and study now I will make the grade I wanna make on the test! There’s always room for improvement!

  11. This week in chemistry I rate myself a 3/5. I struggled with the larger conversion factors and I’m a little nervous for the test. I believe if I work hard and study now I will make the grade I wanna make on the test.

  12. A triumph I had this week was finally understanding the correlation between knowing conversions and using formulas. A struggle I had this week was keeping up with work and days since it was a short week this week.

  13. I rate this week a 4/5. Ouch. The ID of Unknowns lab this morning was one stressful nightmare. This is kind of a good thing because the more I’m put under this type of stress, the better I’ll be working under a ticking clock in the future. So I learned something there. As for setting up homework and remembering the steps to tackling a problem, I’m doing just fine. Great!

  14. I would rate myself a 4/5 for this week. I did very well on the labs we did this week. The only i struggled on was not showing enough work on my homework.

  15. I rate myself 4/5 this week. I messed up on some of my homwork but I’ll go back and make sure I don’t make those mistakes again. I also feel that we communicated well as a class during the lab this week.

  16. I would rate myself a 4/5 for this week. I did great on my homework and really understand everything we went over this week! The ID of Unknowns lab was a little bit stressful but I soon got the hang of it. Can’t wait for the test this upcoming week, gonna get a head start on studying!

  18. This week I would rate myself a 3/5 because the conversion factors I can learn easy but the lab we did this week was really hard to do

  19. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week. I understood the conversation factors really well. The only thing that gave me trouble was the lab we did this week.

  20. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week. I feel like my group did well communicating in the unknown lab, but as a class we communicated poorly.

  21. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week. I say this because at first I didn’t have my work in the right format but then I got the hang out. I also had a little trouble with the lab but I got the hang of it.

  22. I’d rate myself a 3/5 only due to the fact that our class did not work particularly well under pressure and as a unit during the ID the unknown lab, I did all my work and showed work for all problems so it was an ok week. I believe our class needs to get better at working together so we can do better on labs such as the one on Thursday.

  23. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. I struggled to truly grasp every detail when working conversion problems and setting them up. With a bit more studying and practice I think I’ll get it.

  24. I give myself a 2/5 because I did my homework but I did it in the wrong color ink and also because i struggled comprehending the id of unknowns lab.

  25. i would are myself a 3/5 this week. a struggle for me was the lab of unknowns. our class didn’t communicate as well as we should have. a triumph is i am finally getting the hang of calculating and rounding. there can always be improvement, though!

  26. this week i would rate myself 3/5. i struggles with both labs. it took me a while to get the ruler balanced. on the labs of the unknown i feel like the everybody was worried ab their groups and didn’t realize until the end of the class. i do feel pretty good about the conversions.

  27. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I understood the material really well and did my homework. One of my struggles was the group lab because I was very confused but I plan to study and prepare for another week in chemistry.

  28. this week I would rate myself a 4/5 I did all my homework but the lab was really stressful. I’m going to work on my time management.

  29. this week i would give myself a 3/5. i struggled with keeping organized but i understood how to show my work correctly. next week i want to try to stay on top of my work instead of procrastinating until the last minute.

  30. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I didn’t focus on getting the right answers on homework. But I did understand what we learned this week a lot. Another thing is to get on top on doing the webpost earlier and to not procrastinate. I’m doing this webpost way too late.
