Physics 8-17-17 More Mathematics & Analyzing in Physics

PHYSICS: Hey – did all the info on significant figures and types of proportions and graphs come back to you? Quick word about the order of magnitude problems – some may be easy, a few more challenging. Give them your best shot!

Are you? A hoarder, I mean? I soooooo don’t want you to be that person that has a million facts crammed in their head, none of which are useful for anything because you can’t apply what you know. Let’s tackle that this year!

So why can some humans float – or not? Looking forward to hearing your proposal and seeing what you do with the lab tomorrow! 🙂

  1. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I did good on remembering how to write up labs. A struggle this week was trying to figure out order of magnitude problems and remembering sig figs. A triump this week was getting everything turned in on time and beating the computer/wifi crisis.

  2. This week in Physics, we had a chance to review math skills that we will use in labs and calculations this year. I would rate myself a 3/5 stars because I remembered most of the material, but some of the rules I will need to brush up on. I am going to be sure to memorize metric prefixes and exponents! Also, the Whirly-gig lab helped me to use the scientific method, and it helped me to learn how to design an effective lab.

  3. I would rate myself another 3/5 this week because I finished all of my stuff in time but I was a little rusty. I forgot to put P5 before my name and the assignment a couple of times and had to go back to change it. I was also a little rusty with sig figs and had forgotten about the rounding rule when ending with a 5. I’m glad we went over it and should be good to go now.

  4. This week I rate myself a 3/5. I struggled with sig figs and other parts of math problems. I feel like I improved on it though throughout the week. I was also pretty rusty on the lab write up. It had been a while since I had last done one and this one took me a long time. I think in starting to get back in the swing of things though and am looking forward to learning more about physics.

  5. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I struggled remembering the rules of sig figs and it took me a while to remember a lab write up and the format. I got better this week in understanding the scientific method and its procedure after the Whirly gig lab and the human density lab
