Hon Chem 5-9-17 Ideal Gas Law

HON CHEMISTRY: Major day today, huh?!? But pretty cool!!! Good job with the applications of the ideal gas law! Who knew you could go around the world to find density??

Here are some answers below – FYI. Now, go play – and don’t forget to memorize R!!

42 c) 0.0429 g SO2
43 c) 0.0112 L H2S
44 c) 93.8 L O2
45 c) 15.9 g Cu
46) 29.0 L CO2, 58.0 L H2O vapor
49 c) 1.06 atm
50 c) 3.81 L O2
51 c) 0.0377 mol

  1. This week has been very very long. This chapter has been harder for me than the others and the test was no exception. In my opinion, the test we just had was the hardest we had all year. I’m confident that it was not my best test but I’m also confident that it will be okay. I’m glad this was our last test and am trying to finish the rest of the year strong.

  2. My second-to-last full week in Honors Chemistry was an overall good week! I can’t believe that we are almost done with another year! I did all my homework and Science in the News early on in the week, so that lowered my stress levels significantly!
However, they were back up to normal last night… Studying for the test did not go well–I wasn’t very motivated, and I didn’t efficiently study the way that I normally do or manage my time wisely. I struggled with the application, but got burned out and didn’t practice as much as I should have. Because of these factors, I honestly think I failed the test. Not a good way to finish out, but looking back, I know this has been a great year. I have learned and grown so much, and I know that this test will not define me (thank goodness)!

  3. This week in chemistry was a huge struggle. I was doing okay on the homework but was solely depending on my notes and the book. I didn’t realize until taking the test today that I do not have a good grasp on this chapter. I also made up my testing gases lab today and I was extremely stressed out. I hope that the next lesson will be easier and that I will be able to understand gases better before the exam.

  4. This week, I started studying early for the chemistry test. However, I realized during the test there were a few things that I had missed. I was able to figure out most of the math, but it definitely took me longer than I should have. I felt like I had totally blanked and forgot everything I had learned during that test. I finished about a minute before the bell and usually I have a littl more time to check my answers. All in all, I’m not expecting a good grade on this test. But I will definitely work on this chapter so that I have it mastered come exam time.

  5. This week I would rate myself 3/5 stars. I got my Science in the News done early, but unfortunately I did not study ahead of time for the test. This time management decision was unwise because it left me with a small time range to study on Wednesday night. On a positive note though, I was able to finish the test, and I feel that I correctly performed the equations I was concerned with performing the night before. But, I feel that if I would have studied more over a longer amount of time, I would have been more prepared and had time to go over my answers again. Instead of procrastinating my Science in the News assignments like I have been, I did them earlier in the week during my free time; this decision was smart on my part since it gave me less stress when I got home on Thursday. Thus, if I would have allotted more time to study for this test, I think I would have been more successful this week.

  6. I give myself 2/5 stars because I did not study very well for the test. I thought I was prepared, but I did not feel good on the test.

  7. This week I would rate myself a 2/5. I achieved in understanding the homework and always did really well on them. I struggled his week with thinking I understood concepts, but realizing during the test that I didn’t. I will look over them and make sure I know them for the exam.

  8. This week in chemistry was no big deal until the test. I really understood the conseptual information and I thought I understood the math but I didn’t at all. I feel like I did really bad on the test and it sucks but this year I’ve been keeping myself from letting academic success define me. I did the best I could and I need to move on. I’d rate myself a 2.5/5

  9. This week I would rate myself 1/5 stars. I had a performance Wednesday and tried to study afterwards, I guess I didn’t prepare in advance as well as I should have. I felt like it would have helped if I had a help session but I understand why we couldn’t. Hopefully next week will be better (:

  10. This week I would rate myself a 2/5 stars. I knew the material and understood it during class but I should have worked on the problems more because they took me a long time to do on the test. I managed my time horribly on the test. I felt prepared for it until it started. It took me too long to figure out what to do.

  11. I would rate myself a 1/5 stars this week for Chemistry. I did all my homework, and I prepared and worked several math problems for the test. However, on the test, I struggled with everything, and I also ran out of time. I wish that we could have had a help session, but I know that when I go to other classes when I get older we won’t be able to have help sessions. Moving on, I need to practice more before the exam.

  12. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. I did well on the homework this week and felt ok about the test.

  13. I would rate my week a 3/5 because I did all my homework. I studied for the test and knew most of the math problems, but struggled a bit on multiplication. I feel like we moved quickly with this chapter but I feel like I managed. Hopefully I will understand acids and bases.

  14. I would rate myself a 1.5/5 stars for this week. I thought I was doing pretty good on the homework for this chapter and understanding the material, but when I finally got to study, I realized how much I didn’t know. I didn’t study far ahead enough and wasn’t prepared at all, but I’m not going to let myself dwell on one bad test grade because we still have the project and extra credit! Hopefully this next chapter will go smoother. (:

  15. This week I would rate myself 3/5 stars. I felt confident going into the test because I studied well in advance for it, but once I took it I did not feel as good as I did before. Hopefully I did better than I expect. However, I did get my Science in the News done early which was a big help.

  16. This week has been a long week! However, we are so close to being done. I am really nervous about remembering everything for the exam. This chapter was pretty difficult for me though. Looking forward to next week!!
