Hon Chemistry 4-12-17 Chapter 8 Overview

HON CHEMISTRY: God bless you as you prepare for your test tomorrow!! At the bottom is the vodcast of the help session from yesterday. Sadly, today’s class had no audio. BUT I did find an old, old vodcast that might be helpful – at least the first 15 minutes. At the beginning it has a general overview of the test, and then it goes over an end of chapter review that you didn’t have to do this year. Might be helpful as you study! Stop it at about 15 minutes – the rest is something we’ll do after Easter.

Home missions students – why don’t we find a time to have a help session/test review just for you when you get back?!?

Practice tonight (!!!) and also make sure you have everything memorized.

A good source of help is your online textbook at my.hrw.com. Click on the “Visual Concepts” or “Review Activities” tabs at the top of the chapter page for the extra tutorials and quizes. Also, the review activities at sciencegeek.net would be great practice as well. I love you and I’ll be praying for you as you study for your test!!

  1. I give myself 3/5 stars for this week because I was in Nashville for Home Missions. I worked on the project some on the bus on the way there and studied some for the 17 chemical reactions on the way home. I was not able to watch any of the vodcasts while we were there though so I need to watch those and start studying for my make-up quiz and test and do the homework I missed.

  2. This week I would 4/5 this week. my achievement was understanding all the material given to me, but I struggled with waiting too long to study for the test. I will begin to study sooner next test.

  3. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I did all my homework, studied for my quiz/test, and remembered my web post; small victorious. Hopefully I will find time to do my Chemistry project this weekend with disciple now and Easter beeing this weekend.

  4. I would rate myself a 4/5. I thought I did decent on my test, because I prepared for the test. I started studying for the chemical reactions in advance and felt good about it. I am working slowly on my project, but need to get a lot done this week.

  5. I was gone this week, I have quite a bit to make up but I’m glad I don’t have to make up my test right away. I’ve watched the vodcats and done the homework so that’s good!

  6. This week in Chemistry I would rate myself a 2/5 because I struggled with several problems on the test. I felt like I wasn’t prepared when I started answering questions on it. However, I was pleased with my grade on the 17 types of reactions memorization quiz. I also plan to work on the project more during my free time.

  7. This week I had a lot of fun doing the excitement with the lava lamp like cup with water and oil. I thought it was a fun and easy expirement I could do at home. Overall this week I give myself a 3/5 of understanding the material. I feel like I could have studied harder for the test.

  8. This week I’d rate myself 4/5 stars. I worked hard to memorize the 17 chemical reactions by reviewing them for about 5-10 min a day for a week & it definitely payed off. For the test, I felt a littlest overwhelmed going on but I feel like I knew what I was doing, and hopefully my grade reflects that!! I also managed to make some good progress on my project!

  9. This week I would rate myself 3/5 stars. I worked hard to memorize the reactions way before the quiz and test. So, I felt great about that part of the test. But, I dont feel like I followed through and studied enough for the application and multiple choice of the test. I felt like I wa Avery unprepared for that part, but felt better knowing I had to time to check my test as well. Also, my project is coming along but I wish I could work faster because I feel behind on it. It makes me feel overwhelmed and anxiety-ridden, but I know I should not because I planned for stress in the project.

  10. I would rate myself a 3.5/5 stars this week. I did well memorizing the reactions but I did not read well enough and was worried about the test. I am very unsure about the project but I don’t really know why. Happy Easter!

  11. I would rate myself 5/5 stars for the week. I wasn’t here basically the entire week, so it was an easy week for me. Also, I’ve watched the vodcasts I missed and I think I’m caught up with everything besides studying for the quiz and test I missed.

  12. This week I would rate myself 4/5 stars. I worked a lot on the chemistry project, and I also studied a lot for the quiz and test. I did really well on my quiz, and I hope I did the same for my test! Happy Easter, and looking forward to next week.

  13. This week I’d rate myself a 4/5. I felt like I really understood the material and was I top of everything. I feel like the test went well and hopefully my hard works shows it

  14. I am majorly struggling this week. Juggling all the lab reports, homework from other classes, and project work has really worn me out. I am praying that God will get me through this week because I don’t think I can handle it for much longer… All the stress aside, I felt pretty confident on the test! I understand chemical equations, and I enjoyed the labs!

  15. I rate myself a 3/5 stars this week. I have been constantly working on my project, while trying to manage my other homework too. I did enjoy the last two labs and felt like I understood them pretty well. I can’t wait to turn in the project!!
