Physics 3-2-17 Bernoulli – Part 1

PHYSICS: Were you amazed at the effect of change in surface area on the velocity of water, and especially the pressure of water, flowing through a tube? Thaaaaat explains how a calm ride on a lazy river can turn crazy in just a few seconds!

Here is the lesson from Thursday – Bernoulli Part 1. We mainly concentrated on qualitative applications of Bernoulli’s Principle with some practical applications. More of the quantitative stuff tomorrow!

  1. This week has been extremely hard. That being said, I’ll rate myself a 4 out of 5! To be completely honest, I had not found the time to (comfortably) complete my labs with the show going on. I was planning on completing them next week after it was over, so the realization of getting them done this week was a hard one. With the play and everything else going on and countless sleepless nights this week, I would say I’m being extremely efficient in my work. I only have one lab left currently and I am still completing the rest of my work, take home labs, and in class labs. Speaking of which, my lab with Patrick regarding the hydraulic robots went extremely well! We stayed the latest trying to repair ours, and it paid off the next day when ours worked perfectly with what we were trying to accomplish. I also believe I am understanding concepts and Bernoulli fairly well; although, there will always be something that gives me trouble. We just have not gotten to it yet! Here’s to one more lab report and then onwards to spring break!

  2. This week, I am going to rate myself as a 4/5. Going into this week, I felt pretty good about the concepts and that translated into my comprehension of this week’s conceptual lessons. Overall, I believe that I am understanding Bernoulli & Pascal pretty well. The two take home labs that we did really help demonstrate and enforce the principles that we have been learning. In regards to the Hydraulics Lab, I honestly think Jonathen and I did amazingly well. We were the first group to finish the repairs & the next day, our lab clean up video went really well (except for Blake & Pat’s unexpected cameos). Lastly, I feel confident in my ability to tackle the Bernoulli’s Principle Worksheet that is our weekend homework. It’s been a crazy week, but it’s also been a crazy successful week for me.

  3. This week I rate myself a 3 out of 5. I felt like I understood the Bernoulli principle pretty well and I found the problems fairly easy. The reason for the 3 is the fact that I had all 3 labs to write up this week. Although it was tough, I was able to get them all done tonight so the week wasn’t too bad.

  4. I’d rate myself 3/5 for this week. I did well this week on the lessons and homework. I also did well on the Hydraulics lab even though the task that we had to preform was difficult. The part where I struggled this week was I got behind on my lab reports. I did not work on them enough ahead of time so i had to spend a lot of tie this week working on them.
