Physics 1-19-17 Chapter 6 Concept Review

PHYSICS: Here’s our short review of from today of some of the momentum concepts. God bless you as you study. Be sure and check out a momentum/collisions problems review from a previous year if you need some extra help with the problems.

God bless you as you study for your test. I’ll be praying for you!

  1. I would rate myself a 4 out of 5 because I had a good week. I did well on all the home work, and I didn’t get many questions wrong. I also feel like I did good on preparing for the test. The things I did not do good on where the Capstone Lab and the Light Bulb Drop. On Capstone my group did not get anything done on Wednesday. On the Light Bulb Drop I did not get enough done.

  2. This week, I am going to give myself a 3.5/5. Though I struggled tremendously on the harder collision problems the night they were assigned, I was able to figure out all of them after seeing an example problem worked on the board. In regards to the Capstone Lab, I feel as though Mary Addison, Hannah, and I worked well together as they encouraged me to refrain from slacking off. Even though I waited until last night to build my Light-Bulb Drop Contraption, I had already brainstormed, so construction went smoothly. Finally, the test went alright. I believe I did okay, but do not believe it will be my highest test grade of the year by any means. Overall, this was a decent week full of learning and hands on work.

  3. This week, I rate myself a 4 out of 5. I felt that I did really good this week. I struggled just a bit on Tuesday, but as the week progressed, I didn’t have any problems. On the review worksheet, I found the problems easy, and the conceptual stuff a bit harder, but that review really prepared me for the test.

  4. I give myself 4 out of 5 stars this week. I think I understood the conseptual questions well after we went over them in class. I think I really did better at applying the concepts in this chapter. I learned about how bouncing is twice the force because it has to have an impulse to stop it, then another to push it back into the air. I used the concepts to make my project and it worked. I also think I studied well for the test.

  5. This week, I am going to give myself a 5/5. On Monday, I was 100% prepared to drop my Lightbulb Safety Device upon entering class and was confident in my design. I then gave a brief explanation as to how the LSD worked on paper, which went well. To my great satisfaction, the LSD worked perfectly upon dropping. Though it did bounce, I had taken the second impulse into consideration and had prepared for it. Today, we began our “Bombing Hitler’s Dams” video, which I am finding very interesting. I have already been able to determine 5 practical uses of physics and engineering just from the 40 minutes we watched in class today. Hopefully, tomorrow will go just as smoothly.
