Chemistry 5-12-16 Pressure & Gases

CHEMISTRY: Up, up, and away!! Now just how many classes can you go flying hot air trash bags? 🙂

From Thursday – a great discussion about pressure and gases. Homewok update – the book work is moved to due Monday. We’ll finish the gas laws tomorrow.

  1. This week in chemistry we took the Chapter 8 test. Going to the help session, reviewing in class, and studying for a long time at home helped me with the test, as I think I did well on it. I also did did my all my homework from the book this week, which is good. We’ve learned about matter, pressure, and gas laws, which seem interesting to learn about. For my hard work, I rate myself a 4/5 for the week. Now it’s time to do the take home lab!

  2. I’d rate myself a 3/5 this week because I think I couldve studied a little more for the chapter 8 test. I studied a fair amount, but I didn’t review the polyatomic ions. We learned about the kinetic molecular theory this week as well. I was a little confused with the math at first but I think with some practice I’ll get better at it. I’m also starting my exam review so I have plenty of time to prepare for the exam.

  3. This week i struggled with the chapter 8 test. I did not prepare well for it. Though i did poorly on that, i feel i did well on the thLAB. I applied the information i learned about gases to complete my lab with accuracy. I rate myself a 3/5 this week because i failed to study for the test.

  4. This week in chemistry I feel like I struggled a lot with the test. I reviewed my notes and I think I did well on the multiple choice but I found the problems to be really difficult. I feel like the thLAB was a triumph for me. I feel like I followed all of the directions and got the correct answers. I applied what we are learning in class about gases to help me answer all of the questions. I would rate myself a 3.5/5 stars this week.

  5. This week I had trouble with the test we had Tuesday. I thought I did pretty good until I got it back today. The main reason I didn’t do very good on the test was the equations on the back. I should have spent less time memorizing the acids and polyatomic ions and more time learning the 17 chemical equations. To make sure I don’t do the same thing for the exam I’ll spend more time memorize all of the chemical equations.

  6. This week I struggled with the test. I did not prepare myself for it. I triumphed with learning about kinetic energy. I find it very interesting and I wish we had more time to go over it because I am enjoying it. I would rate myself a 3 out of 5 stars this week. Hopefully I will be better prepared for the exam.

  7. This week in chemistry was an okay one. I was not happy with the test grade that I thought I did okay on. I am grateful we got the chance to redeem a few points. I still have a lab to make up which I was thinking I could do Tuesday morning next week? I hope I do great on the exam because I’m going to study hard for it and work on it this weekend. I rate myself a 3 of 5 for the week.

  8. This week I could have studied more for my test. Learning about the new stuff and watching you do experiments to demonstrate it is really helping me to learn it better. I learn better when teachers give demonstrations like that. This week I would rate myself a 3/5 because I am interested in what we are learning about.

  9. This week in chemistry was good. The test wasn’t too bad and surprised myself with how well I did. I also really like the take home lab, it was cool and helped me understand how pressure works and the properties of gases. Overall I give myself 5/5 stars.

  10. This week in chemistry we had the chapter 8 test. I feel like I studied enough to do ok on it at least. I’m glad that it was our last test now we can get more focused on review for the exam. we also started learning about gases and I feel like I know it well up to this point. I’d rate this week a 4/5.

  11. This week in class i enjoyed starting the new chapter on the properties of gases, as well we took our chapter 8 test. I believe I relied to much on my notecards to complete my worksheets and that messed me up on the test. I enjoyed doing the in class experiment in the lab, this was a great representation of how temperature and volume are proportional. I would rate my self a 4/5 stars this week because I managed to compete all my homework and take home labs. I am ready for the end of the year as we rap up our lessons and review for the exam.

  12. This week in chemistry class I would give myself 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed all the experiments we did in class this week as we learned about pressure and gas laws. One of my favorite things was the trash bag hot air balloon. The Boyle’s Law thlab was interesting to me also. Now to begin answering the review questions to prepare for the exam.

  13. This week in chemistry I learned a lot and I would give myself a 4/5. I have been working really hard to understand the new formulas and I tried to learn the new terms and look over what we were going to be learning before you taught us it. The whole thing about gases being able to flow really intrigued me and I learned a lot of new things about gases. I think learning about the different properties of gases and then seeing the property shown to us really helped me to understand it better. I learn best with visual and hands on learning. If we could have learned more lessons like this I think would have understood them better.

  14. This week we review gases and how they work and also there properties. We did a lab with electricity and gases which was very informative. I would give myself a 5/5 this week I worked really hard despite my other exams and have been working really hard on the exam review packet.
