  1. I would rate myself a 4/5 in chemistry this week. I enjoyed doing the lab and watching the differences between the effects of the alcohol and water. I think my partner and I could have managed our time better, but we got it done. I actually understand balancing equations for the most part and I feel confident that I did pretty good on the worksheets.

  2. This week in chemistry, we did a chromatography lab. It gave us a chance to learn more about polar and nonpolar molecules. We also learned about chemical formulas and balancing equations. I would rate myself a 3/5 because I had a little trouble picking up the concept.

  3. This week in chemistry I struggled with balancing equations the most. All of the different steps had me confused but after going over it more in class yesterday, I finally seemed to understand it more. It is still a little challenging, but looking through my notes really helps me. I’m also planning on studying hard for the synthesis reactions and decomposition reactions so I can know them by heart, for the quiz.

  4. This week we learned how to balance chemical equations. I struggled at first but I practiced it and it is better now. The paper chromatography lab seemed easy but it was harder to set up than I thought it would be but I think my lab partner and I got some good results. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week.

  5. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week. I thought the lab was interesting, but I didn’t read it before so I didn’t know exactly what to do. I also didn’t fully understand the balancing equations at first. The extra practice in class helped me understand better and I can do them well now.

I also enjoyed doing the chromatography lab. it was interesting seeing how alcohol and water affect ink. I’d rate this week 3/5 since I could do equations better.

  7. this week we learned abut chemical reactions and how to balance equations. I’m glad we are going back to something we did earlier in the year but its a little harder this tie because there is so much more to it. I rate myself a 4/5 for this week because I kinda forgot how to balance equations but I picked back up on it quick.

  8. This week I rate myself 3/5 stars. We learned how to balance chemical equations and I struggled a lot at how to start it but after the hints like save hydrogen and oxygen for last it got easier! After the second worksheet we did I think I’m doing pretty well! We also did an ink lab where we tested 6 differnt pens to compare the length and color of the run with the pen f the signature we wrote down! It’s really cool to be able to discover the unknown pen by just a couple easy steps!

  12. I would rate myself 4/5 this week. I struggled with balancing chemical equations ha when we first started but once we did more it was easier. I caught onto the rules and different types of reactions quickly today but now I have to be ready to apply it and remember the products of each rule.

  13. This week was very fascinating, because of the things we did in the class. I didn’t really understand the procedures in the lab, but I read it until it made sense. I understood the balancing the equations fairly well and I had no trouble understanding what you thought this week. It was interesting how you made us light the magnesium on fire, and I learned that magnesium was combined with oxygen to make magnesium oxide.

  14. This week in chemistry I would rate myself a 4/5. I really enjoyed the lab we did this week. I thought it was really interesting seeing how the ink moved with the water vs the alcohol because of them being polar or nonpolar. I also felt like I understood balancing chemistry equations really well. At first I kind of struggled with just writing the equations or just miscounting the number of elements on each side. I think going over the formulas again this weekend will help me do better next week the equations.

I would rate myself a 3/5

  18. This week we learned about chemical equations and how to balance them. We also worked on the chromatography lab. We practiced chemical equations on science geek website and on two worksheets. The chromatography was not my favorite lab it was stress with the limted time that was allotted to work on it. It cool get to see magnesium react to the flame of the Bunsen burner and then balance the chemical equation. I am doing great with the shorter equations but, I’m having a little trouble with the longer ones but it could just be that they overwhelming.

  19. I really enjoyed the lab this week. It was very helpful to observe the chemical reactions. I also enjoyed the activity that we did in class today, it was a great example of a chemical reaction. I rate myself a three out of five this week because I missed some of the homework assignments.

  20. This week in chemistry I learned how to balance chemical equations. At first this was hard, but today after all the practice I have caught on to it.
