Chemistry 4-18-16 Intermolecular Forces

CHEMISTRY: Well, here it is, for Monday, the very last lecture from chapter 6 – intermolecular forces. (Don’t forget they’re also called van der Waals forces!) Tons of application, from bugs walking on water to little fishes breathing dissolved oxygen!

  1. Yesterday we learned about intermolecular forces. Then today we worked on homework that served as good review questions for our upcoming test on Friday. We were going to do a lab today, but thankfully it was pushed back to next week. A science in the news was also assigned to us today, and I am glad that I have already done one ahead of time so I can turn it in. For all these reasons, I rate myself 4/5 for the week so far.

  2. This week was a rough week for me but we tackled a lot in this chapter and it’s gonna help me a lot because we did some of the material last chapter on the last test so this test should help my grade a lot

  3. This week we watch vodcasts in Ms. Skinner’s absents. We did our Science In The News for next week, we also so learned more about chemicals that are polar and nonpolar. We put four different colors of food coloring into a bowl of whole milk. Then we put dishwashing soap on the end of a Q-tip and placed in the middle of the food coloring and because the milk was polar and the soap was nonpolar they repelled each other moving outward. We also review for the test today and talked about was was going to be on it. I studied by using the review games on the books website I felt that it helped a lot better than just studying my notes alone. I also when back and watched the vodcasts from chapter six. I feel that I tried my best on the test and hope my hard work pays off.
