  1. One thing I feel I did well this week was handling my time during the Mixture Seperatuon Lab. We finished cleaning up right as the bell rang and avoided the point deduction. We also got all of our substances in the cases except our salt which we got in 7th period.

  2. This week I would rate myself 2/5 stars. I really struggled with getting the final mass on part 2. I had to redo it several times to finally get the proper final mass. Next time I am really going to not rush and think about what I’m doing.

  3. This week I’d rate myself a 9/10 on everything, It was really interesting to see how an experiment can have completely different results just by altering your technique a little bit. I loved working with the law of conservation of mass and working under the pressure of time constraints. It just helps you keep confidence that you can do it no matter how much time you have.

  4. This week I would rate myself a 8 out of 10! My lab partner and I got our labs done fast and we got the correct answers the first time. We cleaned up and did really well. I enjoyed learning more about the Law of Conservation of Mass!

  5. This week I would rate myself 3.5 out of 5 stars. During the lab, my partner and I messed up… A lot. I stayed calm and we finished the lab just in time!

  6. This week I would rate myself 8 out of 10. My lab partner and I finished Part 1 of the lab with confidence. When we got to Part 2 it took a little longer to finish but eventually we got it done. It was cool to see the conservation of mass in this lab! Also thanks for giving us the opportunity for extra credit, it was really cool to learn about the things I researched!

  7. This week I have a triumph because I feel like I was very effective and efficient in the lab this week. I would give myself 4/5 stars just because i spilled a little bit of the baking soda-vinegar mixture. The lab this week was also one of my favorites thus far because we got to mix two different things and see them react with lots of bubbles! I also like our chapter because I’ve always liked learning about solids, liquids, and gases and how they change from one to another and mix together. So overall I have had a very fun week and a very good learning week in chemistry.

  8. During this week I learned that doing labs is not just about following a list of steps, it is also about working together as a team and enjoying the lab. One thing that I can do better is not try to be the first one done with my lab.

  9. I struggled with part 1 of the lab this week at first. I had a problem with time management. The second time around I succeeded with it though. I think my triumph would be part 2 because I had no issues with it and did great with time. The review of physical/chemical changes and the different mixtures really helped to jog my memory. I would give myself 4 stars because I did pretty well besides the time management for the first trial of part 1.

  10. I thought the lab this week was a great way to learn how the law of conservation of mass is applied to a lab. A reason that the mass in my 2nd lab could have been more accurate is if I would have secured the cap of the bottle more tightly so no gas could have been released. I’m glad that the class is learning to manage their time during a lab and work together to get the lab done in the amount of time given.

  11. Rate: I rate myself a 5 out of 10 because at first i struggled to finish the lab in the time you gave us. The second day when we re did the lab i was more confident and was able to complete the lab.

  12. I rate myself a 6 out of 10 because I did not understand the conservation of mass at first until I read over the lab multiple times until I eventually understood the whole lab.

  13. Rate- I rate myself a 5 out of 10 this week because when i did the conservation of mass lab the first time i forgot to get you to check the mass i should have read the board more thoroughly.

  14. This week we learned about the law of conservation of mass. I think I was a 7 out of 10 this week on our labs because me and my lab partner got it done with over 10 minuets left each time we did the lab. I learned that gas does effect mass of something and if it is released the mass will not be the same as what it was after a reaction. I enjoyed the lab and thought it was cool to watch the reaction when the vinegar hit the baking soda I have never tried this experiment and I have always wanted to and now i have.

  15. This week I struggled during the first time we did Conservation of Mass Part 1. My partner and I did not manage our time efficiently. I was very happy when I was informed that we would redo it. The second time, we worked as a team and both stayed on task. Part 2 was even better. I learned how to work better with my lab partner this week.

  16. This week I would rate myself 8/10. Me and my lab partner got our lab correct and we got it done fast within the 0.20 percent error. I understood it.

  17. This week in chemistry, the biggest thing i learned was if you go into a lab before you read or prepare for the lab then you will not be very good. If you do prepare and have a gameplan then you are better off and are lessed stressed out

  18. This week I learned about the conservation of mass. The lab was cool getting to design our own procedure to trap the gas. I struggled with doing my lab on time but I have improved. Looking forward to next week!

  19. Rate – this week I rate myself a 4/5. I struggled on the first day and the first part of the lab. After I learned from my mistakes I became a lot faster at the labs and confident in what I do.

  20. This week I learned how to better make the most out of my time. The labs this week really forced me to use my time wisely.

  21. I feel like I did a lot better on handling my time during the Lab this week. We finished quicker during this lab because we both were doing stuff at all times unlike the first few labs. I rate myself this week a 9.

  22. The main problem that our class as a whole was that we didn’t read the lab completely and had trouble with time. I had fun testing the truth was of the law of conservation of mass by doing chemical reactions with vinegar and baking soda.

  23. This week I learned about the law of conservation of mass. We did a lab this week and it was really fun and cool. The first day was stressful but the second day we did it it was better because me and my partner worked together. This definitely taught us to work together

  24. This week was a very experienced week for me. The conservation of mass lab we did this week made me be faster and more accurate with my results. I forget so many things but I solved this problem.

  25. This week, I would rate myself a 3/5. Through doing the two parts to the lab, I learned about how the conservation of mass works. Redoing the first part of the lab made me realize that time cannot be wasted therefore I obtained a better understanding of the material this week.

  26. I really struggled this week with the lab for the law of conservation of mass. I would give myself a 8/10 on part1, but I would give myself a 4/10 on part 2. On part 1 Javan and I knew what we were doing and completed the lab accurately and efficiently. However, on part 2 Javan and I had to go back and complete the lab again.

  27. This week I learned about the Law of Conservation of Mass and the lab we did really helped me understand it better! I would rate myself a 4 out of 5 stars this week because the lab was pretty stressful at first especially when I was told that we only had 15 minutes but the second try I think I did pretty good and Part II was pretty easy!

  28. This week I feel like I struggled with time on the conservation of mass lab. I am trying to be prepared before the labs and I think it is helping me.

  29. I struggled with keeping composure during the first time doing the lab. I’d rate myself 2 out of 5. I can apply this in later labs when comparing mass. My question is are we gonna separate metals in the future?

  30. I rate myself a 9/10 because my lab partners and I figured out how to do the design your own lab right. It was cool seeing how the mass stayed the same .

  31. This week was a fairly good lab week. Part 1 was a bit rocky but was easy to fix on the re-do day. I learned to not just read the lab but think about what I need to do. Looking forward to get the Mass without a Balance lab over with Monday morning.

  32. Ethics week, I give myself 3/5 stars. I struggled with time management, and made careless mistakes due to rushing or being nervous. In the end, however, I was able to complete my lab correctly.

  33. This week I really enjoyed the experiment. It but a visual on the law of conservation of mass for me. I would write myself a nine out of 10 this week because I feel like I really understood the law of conservation of mass and it better helped me understand chapter 1 and what we were learning.

  34. This week I’d rate myself a 9/10 since I did both the labs correct the first time and I finished them both on time as well. I enjoyed learning more about the law of conservation of mass.

  35. I would rate myself a 3 out of 5 because my lab partner and I got out labs done fast eventhough we had to redo it.

  36. This week I really improved on timing in labs. I was really interested in the chemical reaction we saw when we mixed vinegar and baking soda. I learned a lot about gas and how if you don’t have a lid to contain the gas, the mass will change. I rate myself a 4/5 this week.

  37. I feel that this week was a successful one because we were able to finish the lab in less than the time given and get it correct. I also felt that I could have done better on my test from a few weeks ago

  38. This week I would rate myself a 4/5 because I feel that I worked efficiently and successfully in my class work and the labs we did, but I need to get on top of my homework.

  39. I rate myself 2 out of 5 stars because iam making this class harder than it needs to be. I found the masses for part 1 and part 2 on the first try typed up the lab it was a success. I forgot to turn it in to turnitin but I will try harder next week.

  40. I would rate my self a 3/5 stars this week. The first day of labs was not very good. But I feel like I improved the second and third day because I knew what I was doing and was more prepared for the lab than the first day.

  41. This week I learned the law of conservation of mass. I give myself 4 out of 5 stars for this week. I struggled a little with time management and the amount of baking soda to get, but I feel very confident about to part II lab. I look forward to learning more about the periodic table!

  42. This week I rate myself 3.5/5. For the first day of lab I think that I have learned to read the lab completely before I come to the lab as it showed when I wasnt able to finish on time. I understand the material of chapter 1 really well and I am looking forward to memorizing and using the elements of the periodic table.
