Web Post Comments Ideas

Happy Friday! Are you having a difficult time understanding what a good web post comment is? In the future, you will probably be taking online classes where you will have to be part of online class discussion groups, and you’ll be graded on your comments and how you participate.

Here is a plan that will help you! Your goal is to have STAR Web Post Comments. Hokey title, but maybe it will stick! Click here on the STAR Web Post Comments Idea Sheet for ideas for good comments that will receive credit.

IMPORTANT: Make double dog sure you write your name in your web post the correct way. If your name/heading is not written correctly, you will not receive any credit for making the web post.

Still don’t know what to do?

  1. Click on the title of any web post from the week that I have made for your class.
  2. Scroll to the very bottom of it where it says “Leave a Reply” – you may have to scroll past comments from other people, but you can reply to those also!
  3. Enter your name correctly and your email.
  4. Type in your comment (see the info above.)
  5. Type in the Anti Spam characters in the space provided.

  1. I struggled with the directions of the lab I did good when I understood the lab. I will have to read the lab more carefully and I have no questions

  2. I loved getting to know how to use a Bunsen burner and getting to learn about the lab environment. it can be very intense at times ,but it’s very fun to learn. I can’t wait for the next lab. this week id rate my progress about a 6 I struggled a lot but learned even more.

  3. This week I struggled with using my time wisely. The second day I did a lot better. I read the lab before class and knew exactly what to do and was able to finish my lab on time.

  4. Stuggle – I stuggled this week on getting used to chemistry at the start of the week but by the end of the week I got back into the swing of it and really enjoyed the labs!

  5. I had a hard time understanding some of the equipment this week but the labs helped me a ton for the test. I think it helped using all the equipment in the lab before the test so I could remember easier what they were used for.

  6. I struggled with the lab at the first day because I wasn’t used to the pace and I wasn’t familiar with the equipment. But I stepped it up the next day and I actually finished in time.

  7. Struggle – I had trouble with the names of the equipment at first but thanks to the labs I know most of them now.

  8. The lab for balancing the scales was difficult and i think I need more review on that. Learning to use a bunsen burner was fun and easy.

  9. I had a hard time understanding some of the equipment this week but the labs helped me a ton for the test. I think it helped using all the equipment in the lab before the test so I could remember the uses of it,

  10. i enjoyed working in the lab this week with the bunsen burner. I also enjoyed the lab where we evaporated the salt and water mixture and there was salt in the dish.

  11. I struggled with the lab at the first day because I wasn’t used to the pace and I wasn’t familiar with the equipment. But I stepped it up the next day and I actually finished in time. I did well using balance because I used it before.

  12. I struggled at lightning the Bunsen burner at first but eventually I got the hang of it and the lab became a lot of fun!

  13. Triumph: This week I felt like I did a great job in the lab, even though I may have had some trouble at first, I got the hang of it and I worked with my lab partners really well and learned a lot of new things I never thought I’d learn in Chemistry. I understand that if I read the labs beforehand and pay attention to the directions, the lab won’t be as hard as I make it out to be!

  14. This week I triumphed in correctly lighting a Bunsen burner. At first it was hard lighting it but eventually my lab partner and I got it and the lab was fun.

  15. Struggle- This week I didn’t really know what to expect when it came to the pace of which I had to work which resulted me to not get as much done as I could although by the end of the week I finally got a good feel for the pace and got a lot done efficiently.

  16. This week I definitely struggled with time, especially on the first lab. At, first it was difficult getting used to everything in the lab but I picked up on it pretty quickly and reading the lab before class really helped. I was very interested in the evaporation lab and even though i was stressing about beating the clock, I thought the result was really cool. Overall I think I did fairly well but I need to work on time and organization more. I’m already learning so much and I can’t wait for more labs.

  17. I struggled with time management and at first getting the right mass for lab part 4. I am going to try to be quicker with doing things in the lab and better at fully understanding it before I actually do it. The mass just gave me trouble at first because of the different weigh boat sizes. A triumph for me would be lighting the Bunsen burner. It was very easy to do and fun. I would give myself a 3 on the labs this week because of better time management. I felt a little overwhelmed this past week ,but it was still pretty fun!

  18. I had a great week learning new things that I have never done before, like lighting a Bunsen Burner. Also, doing all the labs this week, watching slideshows, and videos really helped me on the test today!

  19. I learned so much this week. I understand the importance of reading the lab before I go to class. I also learned not to stress on things I know I can do. Even when I messed up one of the days once I re-did it I had confidence that I didn’t have before. I give myself a four out of five star rating because my lab partner(s) and I managed our time wonderfully and worked well together. I know the future labs may not be so easy but now I am prepared and know how to handle a lab day.

  20. I think I got work done quickly and efficiently even with two others at my station. We made a few mistakes but we understood what we did wrong and knew how to fix it. I know next time to read the directions more carefully to avoid mistakes and save time. I would give myself and my lab partners a 4 this week.

  21. This week was very fun and a great learning experience! It was a great time for me to get used to the lab equipment and know where and what everything was and it was cool that I got to test some stuff out! It was defiantly a great learning experience and I am glad I got to do it!

  22. This week, I enjoyed learning how to properly use a Bunsen Burner! Though my lab partner and I had a few set backs, in the end we managed to work through them and finish in a timely manner! It was a struggle to focus this first week because I wasn’t used to working in an environment like what is found in the lab, but I now feel far better equipped for future labs.

  23. This week I learned how to be safe during the lab. I learned all of the lab equipment and what to do if something goes wrong during an experiment. I like how we are revewing all of the safety rules so we will always be safe during labs.

  24. I struggled with managing my time correctly and adjusting to the fast pace work. Despite my trouble, I feel like I did pretty well on the test. Overall, I obtained a good understanding of the material and I thoroughly enjoyed the labs we did this week.

  25. I realize that I need to pay more attention while I’m reading the lab before class, so I will obviously be doing that in the future. I believe, with the possible exception of holding a watch glass instead of an evaporating dish over the flame as well as melting a towel, that the labs were a success because I learned quite a bit. These labs helped me to remember the lab apparatuses and their uses. I’ll give this week a 4 because, although it was a little unorganized on my part, I feel more comfortable with labs and lab equipment now.

  27. I struggled at lightning the Bunsen burner at first but eventually I got the hang of it and the lab became a lot of fun! this is my second post I forgot my class period on the first one

  28. I mainly struggled with the names of a few items, like the area where you put volatile chemicals, or the wire triangle. I did well in working with my partner Emily, who was a complete stranger to me. I learned the safety guidelines when using a Bunsen burner, and more lab equipment and their uses; items I haven’t seen before. I’d rate myself 4.5, since I didn’t stay to help my partner like I should have. My major question for this class is: Will we do more experiments with happy juice? Overall, I enjoyed being challenged this week, and I hope to continue enjoying this class.

  29. Struggled a little bit with managing my lab time but I really enjoyed the labs and learning to use to bunsen burner I would probably rate myself a 3.5 of 5

  30. I struggled with trying to take the notes in class because you go so fast but I am learning to summerize and abbreviate. Ethan and I mixed our oobleck right the first time and got done with our questions in the correct amount of time. I have learned how to take better notes which will help me later in life. I would give myself a 4 because I feel like I followed instructions and did the best I could. Are we going to learn about all the states of matter that are like oobleck?

  31. Making a web post is probably the easiest thing we will be assigned to do in chemistry. But when we first was assigned to do this i actually was very confused and did not understand where to go to do this. But after getting help from Mrs. Skinner and writing about my ideas in the web post: i completely understand how to do it now
