It’s really cool to me that because of a instant arrangement of electrons, fish are able to breath in water.
Wow! Today in class, I figured out why cokes go flat which is really cool! They go flat because the sun gives Energy and that energy causes the London Dispension Force bonds to break! 🙂
In the freezing water lab, it took longer than expected for the ice to completely melt, but it was a fun lab
Can we have a help session sometime before Friday? That would be really great.
The activity with the milk and food coloring was fun. The soap is nonpolar, so it repelled the food coloring, polar. Because of intermolecular forces, the soap broke the bonds of the food coloring and repelled off.
It was very interesting to see what we have been learning about demonstrated through the milk activity. It really shows how intermolecular forces work.
The freezing water lab really helped prove why molecular geometry is so important. The ice is not as dense as water, so when a pond freezes the fish still live.
