HON CHEMISTRY: You realize what we did? We finished all 17 types of reactions today. And we ended with a bang!? No, it was more like a whoosh! Make sure you are working on memorizing all 17 of them by Monday – and forever! But don’t just memorize them. Make sure you can apply them [...]

HON CHEMISTRY: You are doing a great job working with completing and balancing chemical reactions! How are you doing on memorizing them? And you got a head start on the activity series. Good job! Here’s a lecture from today on the rest of decomposition and all of single replacement. That makes 15, so we’ll do [...]

CHEMISTRY – Who knew we’d be doing geometry in chemistry?!? Here’s the lecture on molecular geometry, with a little practice at the beginning on polyatomic ions and resonance. Molecular geometry is super easy. Make sure you know how to draw Lewis structures, then determine the type of ABE structure and you’ve got it. Easy-peazy!

CHEMISTRY: Anyone need help with Lewis structures? We’re having a help session tomorrow morning, Thursday, at 7:15ish A.M. By the way, number 4 on the project should say deux douzaines de limes. Sorry! How did I get ramps????

PHYSICS: God is in control of the waves!! Great review today. I’m proud of you for taking responsibility for your own learning! Here’s the review you did today in class. Good luck studying! I’ll be praying for you!! Below – Hawaiian waves.

CHEMISTRY: Hey guys, you’re really doing a great job connecting the dots with Lewis structures! Here’s the lecture on polyatomic ions. Don’t forget to count the electrons! And then double check the number of electrons. And when you think it’s right, count the electrons!! HELP SESSION tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 7:15. Come if you’d like [...]

PHYSICS: So how many classes to you have where you play with slinkies and watch bridges collapse!?! I’m just sayin’. Here’s the lecture from Tuesday on wave interactions. Cool thing, standing waves. Check out You Tube for a video on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge similar to the one that we watched today. I’ll put the [...]

HON CHEMISTRY: Wow! So that’s where the pretty light comes from! Great job on synthesis and decomposition reactions. We’ll finish decomposition tomorrow. Now go forth and practice what you learned! (The balancing equations part, not the playing with magnesium part!)

CHEMISTRY: Great job with double and triple bonds today! Here’s the lecture from Tuesday. Be careful about getting too happy with double bonding – count electrons and don’t forget CONS. And what else? Oh yes, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! We’ll put one more twist on Lewis structures tomorrow.

CHEMISTRY: Well, since we began the weeks with learning how we can’t always trust what we think our eyes see, and then we ended the week with dots, I thought this would be the perfect picture to go with today’s vodcast. Can you count the black dots? How many? Are you sure? Good luck practicing [...]
