Hon Chemistry 11-4-09 Bohr Model of the Atom
HON CHEMISTRY: I figured anybody who ditched his honeymoon to finalize his work on atomic theory deserved to have his picture on our website. So who do you think is right – Neils Bohr or Louie deBroglie? Let’s talk more tomorrow and see what you think then. By the way, what did you think of the animated version of the double slit experiment? Corny, I know, but it really has a ton a great, very accurate information. I’ve put it in the Vodpod below, if you’d like to review it again.

is it possible for an excited electron to jump to a different close by atom

Why does an electron have to produce light when the energy is released? why cant it release as heat?

if the electrons are moving randomly at high speeds then why dont the hit each other

Ms. Skinner,
What determines the lowest energy of each electron (some start in level 1, while others start higer)?

oh my word today has left me so confused… but i do have a question about something i managed to understand. if you can add electricity to an electron and make it jump to another energy level, can you take away energy and make it fall? something’s telling me this isn’t possible but i was just curious.

ummm… so, how can electrons have different energy levels? i thought they all had the same charge… -1, right?

just wondering, how were the lyman and paschen series of the hydrogen emissioin series discovered if we can’t see them?
