CHEMISTRY: Good luck studying for the chapter 4 test! Here is the vodcast that we did of the chapter 4 review for honors chemistry. I think you’ll find it helpful as well. Have you printed out the study suggestion sheet from Edline? I’m also attaching here. Click on the title to open. Make sure you [...]

HON CHEMISTRY: Welcome back! Here’s an old vodcast on the elements of the periodic table – the p and f blocks. Make sure you go back and practice getting period, block, group, and type of element from the electron congifuration. And don’t forget to go back and look at the nitrogen cycle.

I hope you’re having a wonderful Thanksgiving! Do you know what I’m very thankful for? You! Thanks for the hard work you’ve put into chemistry and physics. Keep it up and don’t give up. Stay strong and trust in the truth that will never fail, that will endure forever! “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving [...]

PHYSICS: Great job explaining the problems today! So how does the student like being the teacher? Here’s the review YOU gave on the last chapter 5 review worksheet. The sound is really low at the beginning, until Josh begins his explanation. flickr photo by lcrf

CHEMISTRY: Just when you were getting the hang of drawing arrows, I go and change it! But don’t you think writing electron configuration notation is a whole lot shorter than doing orbital notation? Don’t get me wrong, knowing how to do orbital is great for seeing how the electrons are paired, but this way is [...]

HON CHEMISTRY: Here are the notes on the elements of the s-block – everything from bananas, to bones, signal flares to street lights. Don’t forget to pay close attention to properties (physical & chemical), occurence, and uses. I’ve put some really interesting videos on some of the more “explosive” elements in VodPod collection below.

PHYSICS: Well, the more I thought about it, the more realized it just wouldn’t be a good idea to have the test either Monday or Tuesday. I hate to move it to after Thanksgiving, but I think it would be best. We’ll finish correcting the chapter 4 problems and finish the lab on Monday, practice [...]

CHEMISTRY: Great work today! Are you starting to see arrows everywhere? Be sure and practice. Things to know: how many types for each orbital and the Aufbau chart! Homework for Friday night is Thursday night’s homework. Practice, practice, practice! flickr photo by coba

HON CHEMISTRY: Great job today! Isn’t the periodic table an amazing thing? It will prove to be a very valuable tool for you! Are you starting to get the hang of using electron configuration to determine the ID of an element, and vice versa? And what about Noble gas notation? It’ll be waaaaaay easier now! [...]

CHEMISTRY: How’re you doing? Confused yet? Don’t worry – today you learned all the background information about quantum numbers, tomorrow we’ll put it all together and it will begin to make sense. If you didn’t hear the lecture today, this is for sure one that you want to watch! By the way, we’re officially one [...]
