Chemistry 10-15-09 Law of Conservation of Mass Lab
CHEMISTRY – Great start to the nine weeks – good job on the lab today. So did you see the Law of Conservation of Mass today? Why not? What are you going to do differently in the lab tomorrow, and why do you think it will work? Here’s the intro lecture from today, and just in case you need it, the format for the Part 1 lab write up.

ms skinner, on the law of conservation of mass lab part 1, was the reason it didnt work because we didnt keep the gas in to mass it maybe?

I think the error could come from gas escaping, or from one of the samples not getting completely poured into the other beaker when mixing.

i liked our lab except for the scale was kept on like going up and down and stuff

i would have never have thought that gas had a mass so thats very interesting

that was weird how much mass we lost in that lab just because of the gas

aaron- cause the bottle may have leaked out the vinegar or gas put off by the reaction.

Would splitting an atom like a nuclear bomb be destroying matter and violating the law of conservation of mass?

why is it that people went on to believe aristotle’s ideas over democritis’s?

i think it was because aristotle’s theory was the more popular idea. it was more traditional, and people were reluctant to believe something so different (democritus’ idea) from what they had been taught.
