Chemistry 9-10-09 SI Measurements

CHEMISTRY – Wow – we sure crammed in a lot today! Sorry about that – I’ll try to do better. How’d you like the Oobleck lab? Ever heard of a non-Newtonian fluid? Well now you have! I posted the YouTube video clip that I showed in class today in the VodPod below. Scroll down to the bottom right and you should see it in the VodPod collection of videos. So … here’s the kind of short lecture on SI Measurements. We’ll finish talking about guidelines on writing units/measurements on Monday. Good luck on memorizing the prefixes, etc.! And have a great extra long weekend!!

for our science in the news can we use any science website to get the information?

    [Reply]

    Ms. Skinner Reply:

Jessica – yes, you may use any website – even “news” websites that have a science section would work. Those might even be easier to understand and more interesting. You can also use science websites. You can check out a few of those that I’ve included over on the right side toward the bottom of the website.

So, I really need to listen to today’s lesson, because my brain did not comprehend anything we were going so fast. I’m not so good at writing notes and listening (and understanding) at the same time.

Thanks for uploading the lectures I missed. It really helped me catch all my notes up and I think I somewhat understand it.
