Physics 5-1-09 Applications of Refraction

PHYSICS: Oh, my goodness, did you think this day would ever get come? Here it is, the last lecture in physics! So lens cases are great to learn, but for what? Here’s the lecture from Friday on applications of refraction. Isn’t total internal reflection cool?!?

Don’t forget the two applications that I’ve asked you to research on your own: 1) Why is the sky blue? 2) Sunrise & sunset – what’s up with that? Why can you see the sun before the one and after the other? And at sunset, why is the sun shaped kind of like a pumpkin – squashed at the bottom? We’ll review Monday, test Tuesday. Did I say LAST test!

Hey, on the homework, it says to do 22-25, 31-36, but we already did 15-26 for a previous assignment. Do we have to do 22-25 again?

Will there be a discussion question on fiber optics?
