Chemistry 1-14-09 Electron Dot Notation & Intro to Chemical Bonds
CHEMISTRY: I just love dots! Well, electron dots aren’t exactly the same thing… Hey guys, here’s the lecture from Wednesday on electron dot notation and the introduction to chemical bonds. Good job on doing the dot notation!

to Chris Casto’s “whats the difference between polar and non polar”
polar means that the molecules has a zone that pertrudes from the mass of the electron cloud. this pertrusion usually has a different charge.
nonpolar simply means that it does not have that characteristic on the molecule.

Jake Wilson: In ionic bonding, electrons completely transfer from one atom to the other, like sodium and chlorine. Sodium gives its electron to chloring. In covalent bonding, electrons are shared between atoms.
